Here are 10 corporate fundraising partnerships to finish off October, from striped pyjamas to a gala dinner, a donated minibus, and a photography competition.

Mercy ships

1) MedCruise and Mercy Ships

MedCruise, the Association of Mediterranean Cruise Ports, has endorsed Mercy Ships as its Charity of Choice in a move designed to help the charity raise awareness of its work in providing essential surgery on board its ship in developing countries.

 

2) Matalan and Alder Hey Children’s Charity

Matalan has announced that it is collaborating with Alder Hey Children’s Charity this Christmas for the third year running. This year’s ‘Get Your Stripes’ campaign builds on the retailer’s previous Christmas fundraising appeals, Alphabet Scarves and Beanie vs Bobble, which raised more than £1.3m combined and was backed by celebrities including Justin Bieber and Britney Spears. 3) Specsavers and Kidscape

Specsavers’ annual Spectacle Wearer of the Year has raised a record-breaking £88,000 for Kidscape. Specsavers donated £1 to Kidscape for every entry to this year’s competition, and combined with ticket sales and a raffle during the evening, a grand total of £88,000 was raised. Derek Dubery from Northern Ireland crowned the 2016 Spectacle Wearer of the Year, winning £10,000 and a trip to New York.

4) Lookers and The Prince’s Trust

Lookers’ Annual Charity Golf Day and Gala Dinner took place in Newcastle on Friday, 7th October, and raised £35,000 for The Prince’s Trust. The gala dinner was fronted by Rory Bremner, and a charity auction took place to raise funds for the charity.

 

5) eHarmony and Art Fund

eHarmony.co.uk has partnered with Art Fund, to help raise funds for the public to enjoy art. The partnership will consist of a year’s worth of activity, combining people’s love for art and romance. As part of this, Art Fund will be an official partner for eHarmony’s Love Captured photography competition. For every entry, eHarmony will donate 50p to Art Fund. In return, throughout the whole of October, Art Fund will be giving each ‘Love Captured’ weekly winner a National Art Pass Plus One. The competition runs until 30 November 2016.

6) Core Telecom and The Forest School, Knaresborough

Mahmood Mazar, the owner of Yorkshire-based Core Telecom, has donated a Sunshine Coach to The Forest School in Knaresborough, through Variety. The Sunshine Coach is a 17-seater minibus, fully equipped with a tail lift to allow for wheelchair access, and will be used to provide experiences such as Duke of Edinburgh expeditions and training visits, sporting events such as canoeing, sailing and swimming lessons along with residential visits to outdoor activity centres.

7) FedEx and Action for Children

This October, FedEx team members gave up their time to take part in Action for Children’s Byte Night for the fifth year, spending a night on the streets of Birmingham, Cambridge and Newcastle and raising nearly £2,000 for the charity. FedEx also delivered 20 pallets of items, including umbrellas, beanie hats and foil survival bags across the UK, all as part of its FedEx Cares programme.

 

Winter Arts antiques fair

8) Winter Arts and Antiques Fair Olympia, and Mind

The Winter Arts and Antiques Fair Olympia has partnered with Mind with the aim of raising money for Mind’s Creative Therapies Fund, which facilitates a broad range of arts-based projects across England and Wales. The charity will host an exclusive fundraising event on the Preview day of Monday 31st October from 18.30 with tickets costing £60.  Artist, Mind ambassador and founder of the Creative Therapies Fund, Stuart Semple will give the keynote speech and a silent auction will also take place across the week where delegates can bid for pieces of art donated by exhibiting dealers, as well as a range of other prizes and experiences.

 

9) M&S and Breast Cancer Now

In support of October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, M&S is donating 10% of sales of sports bras and women’s fitness clothing during the month, and is also running a free prize draw for Sparks card holders, offering £1,000 to the winner plus a £1,000 donation to Breast Cancer Now. M&S is also working with Breast Cancer Now to try and raise £13m for the charity by 2020.

 

School of Hard Knocks

10) Principality Building Society & School of Hard Knocks

Principality Building Society has donated £14,000 raised by its employees to rugby charity School of Hard Knocks Cymru (SOHKC), which is one of the Principality’s charity partners for the next three years. SOHKC has rolled out a programme aimed at school children as well as people not employed or train that combines rugby and one-to-one mentoring to help individuals attain positive and realistic goals towards good behaviour, attendance and academic attainment, and to raise their aspirations for life after education. The donation has already helped the charity to take on a new team member.
